Clear Lake Webmap

The Clear Lake area is a rural community in Skagit County, Washington, located approximately 4 miles south of the city of Sedro-Woolley.

How to use

• Click a colored parcel to see the claimant name, patent date, and patent type.
• Use the + and − buttons on the map to zoom in and out. As you zoom in, additional landowner names and details will appear.
• Use the layer list/legend to turn claim types on or off.
• Patent links open in a new browser tab; close the patent tab to return to the map.

Scope and limitations

This map shows selected early federal land claims in the Clear Lake study area based on records from the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) General Land Office.

Note: Some landowner names and labels appear only when you zoom in closer. This helps keep the map readable when viewing larger areas.

The map includes three types of land patents:

• Homestead claims
• Purchased land (Cash Entry)
• Military and Scrip Warrant claims

It does not represent all federal land patent authorities or all land transfers that occurred in the area.

Parcel boundaries are approximate and are intended for historical visualization and educational use only. This map should not be used for legal or surveying purposes.
